About "Science Dreamers" (former “STEM in Tanzania”)

Since 2021, Science Dreamers has been a community of passionate individuals dedicated to delivering STEAM (Science-Technology-Engineering-Arts-Math) education to underserved communities in rural Tanzania. The program is an immersive initiative where volunteers collaborate with local educators to enrich STEAM learning and inspire students in Tanzania.

Step by step

Everyone is welcome to join, regardless of background. Before you even set foot in Africa, our expert team will prepare you through interactive STEAM training sessions, so you feel confident and ready to make a difference. Once in Tanzania, you'll work side by side with local educators and students, guide interactive activities and see the impact grow in real time.

During the first few days, you will help our team conduct training sessions for local community educators, who will in turn implement the program in their schools during the school year. In the following days, together with the local organization SANA, we will visit the schools of the teachers participating in the program and provide them with support in implementing STEAM activities, ensuring that everything runs smoothly. At the same time, the students participating in the program will have the opportunity to interact with their peers in Africa through STEAM education and collaborate on science and technology projects.

Uniquely suited for IB students (Groups A & B)

Science Dreamers is an excellent opportunity to fulfill your CAS requirements. You will contribute to meaningful educational programs working alongside local educators and you will have the chance to deliver engaging lessons and experiments to underserved communities in Tanzania. Of course, you will immerse yourself in the local community, reflecting on their eco-friendly and sustainable way of living and you will be able to understand their challenges, bringing you closer to becoming a world citizen.
