JULIE KYRIAZI
SENIOR MANAGER
Julie Kyriazi is a biologist with a Master’s degree in Environmental Biology from the University of Crete. She holds a Ph.D. in Ecology Education from the Department of Primary Education of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, focusing on the teaching of Ecology in formal education. Since 2009, she has been professionally involved in the design and implementation of Environmental and Sustainability Education programs addressed to both students and educators. In this context, she has collaborated with kindergartens, schools, universities, museums, and non-profit organizations.
Since 2012, Julie has been working at SciCo as a Senior Manager and scientific advisor for initiatives related to Education for Sustainable Development. Her work includes adult education and capacity building in knowledge and skills essential for science communication. She is a founding member of the Athens Science Festival, where she has served for 11 consecutive years in various key roles, including Content Manager, Executive Director, and Head of Partnerships. Through her coordination, leadership skills and contribution, the festival reached more than 200,000 visitors and engaged over 150 stakeholders in the field of science dissemination. Over the last eight years, she has also worked as a consultant for the development and organization of Science Festivals in other cities in Greece and Cyprus, including the Thessaloniki Science Festival, Patras Science Festival, Thessaly Science Festival, Ioannina Science Festival, and the Mediterranean Science Festival in Limassol, Cyprus.
In parallel, over the past five years, she has served as a public-school teacher in secondary education in the regions of Fthiotida, Fokida, and Achaia.
