SCIENCE DREAMERS

THE PROGRAM “SCIENCE DREAMERS” (FORMER “STEM IN TANZANIA”) WAS LAUNCHED IN 2021
WITH THE VISION TO EMPOWER STUDENTS AND TEACHERS IN TANZANIA AND BEYOND,
DELIVERING STEAM EDUCATION TO UNDERSERVED RURAL COMMUNITIES

Limited access to quality education in Tanzania continues to restrict children’s opportunities and future prospects. Through our STEAM education program, we aim to give the children in Tanzania, an opportunity to improve their learning experience and agency. At the same time, we assist and empower local teachers to deliver long-term high-quality STEAM education.

Our mission is to foster learning, spark curiosity, and build lasting connections between cultures. We work side by side with students and teachers, contributing directly to meaningful educational projects that leave a sustainable impact.

The SciCo team, together with volunteers from around the world, works in Tanzania every summer to implement the program. During our missions to Tanzania, more than 80 local teachers from the villages of Gongo, Mkange, Miono, Manda, Java, and Matipwili were trained and empowered to deliver hands-on STEAM education. Together with local educators, SciCo co-created three tailored STEAM curricula, ensuring relevance to the local context and long-term sustainability. The trained teachers are fully equipped to implement the curricula in their schools, reaching over 12000 students and continuing to multiply the project’s impact.
