COMMUNITY CENTER OF NORTHEN EVIA:
ENHANCING CHILDREN’S SKILLS THROUGH THEIR LOVE FOR THEIR REGION
The “Community Center of Northern Evia' is an initiative focused on the residents of the Municipality of Mantoudi-Limni-Agia Anna, with the goal of supporting them during the critical period of reconstruction of their economic and social life after the big fire on 2021. The program focuses on three areas: improving people's daily lives, strengthening economic life, and educating the youth of the region and offers free programs for everyone: men, women, and children.
In an effort to enhance the educational process in the schools of Northern Evia, SciCo has been conducting Science Workshops for elementary and middle school children in the area since October 2022. Through STEM education activities, students come into contact with the world of the natural sciences in an experiential way and discover new and enjoyable ways of learning while developing social, digital, computational, and other skills."
The Community Center of Northern Evia has been established and operates by ActionAid, supported in full by a grant from the Stavros Niarchos Foundation (SNF), as part of its Fire Relief Initiative for North Evia. Its programs are implemented in collaboration with the ARGO Federation of Psychosocial & Mental Health Organizations, New Agriculture New Generation, and SciCo (Science Communication).
