FOURTH INTERNATIONAL MEDITERRANEAN SCIENCE TALES CONTEST ORGANISED BY MEDNIGHT

  • The selected stories will be performed in hospitals, nursing homes and migrant reception centers and will be published in a book
  • The subject has to address some scientific aspect related to the Mediterranean
  • The deadline is august 15th

If you are writing scientific literature, researching, teaching or disseminating science, this is your opportunity to be part of the project that represent the IV Tales of the Mednight. A literary contest whose purpose is to bring science by representing the winning stories to hospitalized children, migrants and elderly people in residences. The deadline to register your work is August 15th at 23:59. The works can be presented electronically, using the form available on the website of the Mediterranean Researchers’ Night (MEDNIGHT). The selected stories will be published in digital and printed version, the ISBN of the compilation book will be managed and a printed copy will be sent to the winners as a prize. MEDNIGHT also offers training to become a story writer through an online guide, uploaded to the project website, on how to develop a history of scientific dissemination. The story should be about scientific aspects related to the Mediterranean and comply with the aspects of a tale and a short story. There are two categories, for children and  for youngsters, which will facilitate the adaptation of the papers submitted.

Dozens of writers from all over the Mediterranean and Latin America are already taking part in an inclusive and supportive dissemination proposal. The works from previous editions are available on the Mednight website, with the third edition reaching the translation into Greek, Italian and English. The MEDNIGHT Stories will be told at Mediterranean Researchers’ Night events, which will take place on September 27th in different locations in Spain, France, Italy, Greece, Cyprus, Turkey, Tunisia and Belgium.

MEDNIGHT is a Mediterranean scientific dissemination project that connects knowledge centers at both ends of the Mediterranean Sea and brings together the participation in a consortium of 14 institutions: MUDIC, El Caleidoscopio, CIEMAT, SciCo Cyprus, SciCo Greece, Kadir Has University of Istanbul, the European Association of Women Rectors (EWORA), Genopolys, Monastir Science Palace, the University Hospital Center of Tolouse, INSERM, Athena R&I IT and the Marie Curie Alumni Association under the coordination of the University of Messina.

MEDNIGHT is held within the framework of the European Researchers’ Night, a scientific dissemination project promoted and financed by the European Commission as part of the Marie Sklodowska-Curie actions (grant agreement no. 101162227) of the program Horizon Europe.
