XR4ED

XR4ED IS A EUROPEAN UNION PROGRAM AIMING TO BRING TOGETHER THE EdTECH and XR COMMUNITIES TO ESTABLISH A EUROPEAN REFERENCE PLATFORM ON LEARNING AND TEACHING WITH XR

The European EdTech sector is playing an increasingly important role in driving forward digital transformation in Europe. On the other hand, the European Extended Reality (XR) industry has evolved and maintained a leading role globally in software and content production. The use of XR could expand the range of activities through which students can gain hands-on experience, enabling them to go beyond abstract knowledge and supporting skills-based teaching and learning. However, currently, developing XR applications for education requires specialised knowledge and strong XR development skills, demanding a process that takes a lot of effort, time, and money. XR4ED brings together the EdTech and XR communities to establish a European platform on learning and training with XR that will provide a central access point to existing solutions and contribute to a leading position for Europe in cutting-edge technologies for education.

XR4ED will support start-ups, SMEs and industry active in the education sector, as well as schools, high schools, universities and VET institutions, via two Open Calls, each funding 20 projects, with a 12-month duration, up to 230 000 €. Find out more about the Open calls here.

This project consists of an international consortium with partners from 11 institutions, spread across 8 EU countries, including Luxembourg, Spain, Greece, Cyprus, Romania, Ireland, France, and Germany. In this program SciCo will be actively involved in the Impact Assessment Plan and will support the realization of the Dissemination, Communication and Exploitation strategy.

You can find more information on the project in the official website of XR4ED.
