A Smart & Sustainable greenhouse made of plastic bottles was created by students of Astypalea Primary School!
Sensors were installed in the greenhouse for its automation, ensuring that water consumption is minimised, watering only when necessary. Temperature, humidity and soil sensors were placed in the area, the corresponding values of which are displayed on a screen. The sensors are powered by solar panels to make the greenhouse energy autonomous.
The smart greenhouse is part of a series of educational activities at the Primary School of Astypalaia, by the educational organization SciCo - Science Communication in collaboration with Alpha Bank, which aim to educate and raise awareness of the small citizens of the island regarding the economic model of the Circular Economy.
