augMENTOR IS A EUROPEAN UNION PROGRAM AIMING TO PROMOTE THE IMPLEMENTATION
OF AN AUGMENTED INTELLIGENVE APPROACH TO LEVERAGE ADVANCEMENTS IN EDUCATION

In the 21st century education can be challenging, as the learner’s needs are constantly increasing, and the educator’s skills are limited. Emerging technologies have the potential to initiate the change from an instructional teaching paradigm to a learner-centered paradigm that promotes the development of new roles for both the educator and the learner.

The augMENTOR, through an artificial intelligence toolkit that builds on big data and learning analytics will provide different tools for the educators according to the unique characteristics of the learner. This type of data could be available to students, enabling them to manage their learning. At the same time, educators can also monitor students’ cognitive progress, plan their teaching effectively and train pre-service and in-service educators to develop critical perspectives on emerging technologies.

This project consists of an international consortium with partners from 13 institutions, spread across 9 countries, including Luxembourg, Greece, Cyprus, Germany, Ireland, Serbia, France, Lithuania, Austria, and the United Kingdom. In this program SciCo will be actively involved in the Impact Assessment Plan and will support the realization of the Dissemination, Communication and Exploitation strategy.
