ACADEMY OF AMBASSADORS: APPLICATIONS UNTIL THE 18th of JANUARY
SciCo is organizing for the 4th year the Academy of Ambassadors.
The main purpose of the program is to strengthen the skills of the participants in science communication, to develop their professional skills and to introduce themselves as spokespeople of SciCo's values and goals.
To meet the above objectives, participants during the program are invited to consider the following questions, which form the core of the program and are explored through learning by doing processes.
What is the need for science to communicate with society?
What are the modern ways of communicating science?
What are soft skills and why have they gained more weight in recent years?
Do I know how to make the most of my professional profile?
How is a science communication program being studied, organized and implemented?
What technical and educational tools within the group can be used to personally empower the unit?
The program structure is described below and includes the following sections:
Science-based communication tools (understanding the issue, storytelling, empathy, perspective-taking)
Developing soft skills (verbal communication, public speaking, body language, crisis management, feedback)
Group management (work ethic, teamwork, networking, decision making, positivity, time management)
Preparing a professional profile
Practical program exercise by participants
The seminar is addressed to:
- undergraduate and postgraduate students of science
- Doctoral Candidates
- teachers of all educational levels
- Youth Leaders, Youth workers

CYCLE 2018-2019
Duration: 25 hours of theoretical training and practical training (Tuesdays @19:30 - 21:00).
Location: SciCo headquarters, 210 Kifissias, Chalandri
Program dates: 29/1, 5/2, 12/2, 19/2, 26/2, 5/3, 12/3, 19/3, 26/3, 2/4
Entry fee: 250 euros (reduced: 200 euros for students)
Upon completion of the seminar (theoretical and practical part) a certificate of participation is provided.
