MARIA VLASTARA

Maria Vlastara is a chemist by training, with an expertise in Radiopharmaceutial Chemistry. In 2019 she enrolled as a PhD candidate at the University Medical Center of Radboud, in the Netherlands, studying breast cancer diagnosis methods using click chemistry.

Since the first years of her PhD she wanted to combine science with science communication. Since 2020 she works as a freelance science writer at the communication agency, Research Outreach.

In September 2020 she was a member of the organization committee of Athens Science Festival as the Content Manager and later on she was a member of the pilot program of SciCo, STEM in Tanzania, as a Project Coordinator. Since June 2022 she work at SciCo as the Project Leader of the European projects augMENTOR and XR4ED, while she remains the Content Manager at the Athens Science Festival.
