The European DELOS project closure

The European project DELOS, where SciCo served as dissemination partner, was successfully completed last month with a final conference held in Zaragoza, Spain.

The conference included training on management of biogas plants to help industrial centres train their employees, as well as to help them incorporate new skills and abilities. Biogas is a renewable energy source that digests agro and urban biowaste, and is an excellent example of the “circular economy” concept for sustainability.

The project aimed to raise awareness on the environmental problem of agro-waste disposal and promote the process of anaerobic digestion as a promising treatment and carried out training courses and established a sturdy stakeholders network in three countries – Spain, Greece and Cyprus – consisting of waste treatment managers and employees, waste producers in the agro-industrial field, environmental public authorities and academic institutions. It further implemented a coherent and high-quality e-learning tool that facilitated the accreditation of sustainable competencies.

This project was funded by the European Commission under the Lifelong Learning Programme Leonardo Da Vinci. To find out more, you can visit the website.
